Devin all Snazzied Up with this Beautiful Young Lady - Melissa Tew

(we're still not sure how he managed to snag her)

We attended the Bawlf grad this past weekend. It was an emotional weekend for some, and I am sure mom will never forget having the emotions scared out of her (thanks Dan). Devin looked very handsome, even with his wild man hair. Melissa looked stunning in that black gown, not sure if Devin managed to mention this to her though. LoL Sorry the pictures are backwards as far as timeline, it's just how I managed to post them funny.

Our Mid-Week Getaway

Dan lounging in the suite... not bad for a hotel under construction.
A TRex... fairly neat.

Lynn with a giant prehistoric turtle...

Triceratops.... again nifty creature.
Dan and I spent the night of the 18th at Drumheller, while Grandma & Grandpa Sweeney watched Amélia at the farm. We had a nice supper and then spent the 19th at the Royal Tyrell Museum. It was really nice to be able to take our time and wander around the place, we read almost everything. It was a lot of fun and a nice break. :)

Pretty Miss Amélia with her new plushie and blankie from Lynn, Kirstie, Brittney & Darrell
Mealie on Bea's lap.... great picture!

Lots has gone on in the last while, Devin turned 18 (OMG) and Mealie's turning into a stubborn little girl (hmm...wonder where she got that from?). She's amazing us everyday with new skills and at times it's hard to believe she's only 17 mos, other times it's hard to believe she's already almost a year and a half!
Feb 24-26 we spent time at Paradise Hill Sask with Paul and his family. It was neat meeting more people. Daniel enjoyed some outdoor time & even Mealie tried the toboggan. She got to see some cows and horses, and was very amused with a rather large Malamut dog (she was a sweetheart).
*I will try to keep the blog updated better, I promise*

Meeting Lynn's Bio Father

This is Amélia with her new stuffed Hippo from Paul & Holly
Us in the mall in Lloydminster
Lindsey & Paul
Here's our little family.... Bugs in her big puffy winter coat
We met with Paul and his wife Holly in Lloydminster last Saturday. They treated us to lunch (Amélia threw most of hers on the floor) and had some gifties for us. Above is Mealie with her pink Hippo. It was really special to me that we were able to meet them. We had a good time & hope to see them again sometime soon.
Later Saturday evening we met up with more of Terri's side of the family. Even got to meet a cousin my age! It was a lot of fun meeting everyone, although Amélia was pretty tired by the end of it all. Hope to see you all again soon!

Papa and Amélia
Isn't that the greatest photo ever?

The Whole Family
Pretty as a Christmas Card...

Amélia and Mommy
What a great smile!

These photos were taken late October so they'd be ready for Christmas. They all turned out so well (my favorite is of Mealie & Daniel). Hope you all enjoy them!

New Job for the Family

Amélia loves hats, not outside to keep sun off her face or the cold outta her ears, just hats to wear in the house. She was being goofy the other day and decided to put Papa's hat on. Too cute!
New phase in our life : we've just taken over as the resident managers of the town houses we live in (as well as the other 2 buildings owned by the same company). We took over today and we've gotten 3 phone calls so far 'cos the other manager wasn't taking care of things. We have 2 suites that the dryers aren't working in... iey-yaiy-yiay.
Daniel's doing well at home all day with Mealie, she's showing him what she wants & how to do things her way. LoL Work is going ok, myself and many coworkers are having difficulties with a certain manager, but that's the way things go.
Amélia has quite the vocabulary now, she likes trying new words. I've heard her use a few words only a couple times (puppy, Lula) but she overuses others (see), so I guess they even out. She's been so good about sleeping in her own bed (crib) but the last couple nights she's been hard to get to sleep as she's teething.
Things are going well for the family, almost all Christmas shopping is done. Don't have our tree set up, but that'll be done next week. Christmas should be fun this year as Amélia will be busy and tearing the paper apart! So exciting!

Snow Family

This is the three of us kicking around at the farm. Big ol' Dexter dog in the background. Unfortunately Amélia wasn't looking at the camera but it was the only "family" pic we got. She thought this snow thing was rather neat, but didn't really appreciate the mittens. Although I'm sure if she'd have tumbled without them she would have liked them more!
I've started work now (only 2 shifts so far) and things seem to be going well around here while I'm gone. So glad that Mealie & Dan get to spend time together. Thurs I worked 12-4pm, so wasn't gone long. Got home and the rugrat was happy to see me, on Friday I worked 5-9:30pm (Amélia's grumpy time) and when I got home she'd watched Barney, ate supper, was in her pjs and already asleep in her bed. I was very impressed, Dan did a great job!
Tomorrow we're having some people (Liane, Brett, Devin, Melissa, and some others) over for the Grey Cup. I think Dan may be "out voted" as he'll be cheering on Montreal. We're gonna have some munchies and desserts but nothing too fancy. I guess I should get my butt in gear and clean this place in the morning. LoL
Nothing else really new on the homefront. We're nearly done our Christmas shopping, just have Dad, Gerry, the Klinke's and a couple stocking stuffers left to grab.

Meeting for the First Time

Amélia & Her New Fav Person (Remi)
The Whole Family (well, not Ralph)... but even Kyra's in this pic!
L-R Ryley, Kyla, Lynn & Remi
Terry & Lynn
On Sunday we had an exciting day as we met my biological mother & her family. I have 4 new siblings, 2 half sisters & 2 half brothers! Kyla is the oldest, the boys are the middle kidlets and are loud & rowdy (LoL), the youngest is Kyra, she's the sweetheart of the bunch. Although the 2 hr car ride to meet them was rather nerve wracking, the conversation went smoothly and we all got along fine. It was great to finally meet her & be able to begin a new chapter in our lives.
Lucky Mealie has another Grandma! :)

Our Family Blog

I have stolen the idea from a friend of mine to start a new blog, this one about our whole family. As Amélia gets older (she's almost 13 mos already) I figured we should include our family events on her blog. Considering we posted a lot about family on the other one, we'll make it more appropriate this way.
October 11, 2006 : Amélia got her 1 yr vaccinations, did so well! She got a needle in each little arm but only cried for a minute for each. She's growing well, she's 24lbs 2oz and already 30 1/4 inches long! That evening to make her feel better 'cos her arms were a little dead I covered her head with stickers... LoL it kept her happy & amused! October 12, 2006 : I have finally recieved contact with my biological mother. Positive response & the potential of meeting & starting a relationship! We also found out that I have 4 half siblings, the oldest turning 17 in January! It's a very exciting time, I've been looking for my biological mother for about 5 yrs now.
